Welcome to Shoulder to Soldier’s first blog.

Welcome to Shoulder to Soldier’s first blog.

We have now secured our charitable status.

Every week there will be an update of recent events and topical issues that we have supported our Armed Forces Families with.

So whether it’s an Employment Support Allowance case or updates on our fundraisers we hope you continue to engage with us.

Let us know what topics you think people would be interested in, but for now this is what’s happened this week:

Since we started the hard work to form the charity we have been asked to help armed forces families with;

Letters and appeals relating to PIP and ESA claim's;

Defended repossession proceedings against a mortgage lender for a veteran;

Mediated with Housing Providers on rent arrears.

Highlighted out campaign's on Salford City Radio;

Supported a homeless veteran in Plymouth providing advocacy to explain the priority housing need requirements;

Assisted a veteran who wanted to access alcohol rehabilitation services.

Attended various brilliant breakfast clubs;

Continued to raise awareness of the impact of PTSD on armed forces families, to obtain more support and promote our Fireworks campaign.

This gives you a flavour of the support we can offer Armed Forces Families.

Please spread the word and get in touch. If you can help us fund raise that would be fantastic.
